He is the author and editor of the books The Rule of Law in Brazil: The Legal Construction of Inequality (Hart, 2022), Constitutional Change and Transformation in Latin America (Hart, 2019, ed. with Richard Albert and Carlos Bernal), On The Limits of Constitutional Adjudication: Deconstructing Balancing and Judicial Activism (Springer, 2010), among others. He regularly writes for I-CONnect, having been its columnist in 2021. He is the Co-Chair of ICON-S Brazil.

Ana Cristina Botelho

Coordinator

She holds a Ph.D. in Law from the University of Brasília/UnB (2018), with a concentration in "Law, State, and Constitution," having conducted her thesis in the Research Line: Constitution and Democracy. She holds a Master's degree in Constitutional Law from the Brasiliense Institute of Public Law/IDP (2009) and a Bachelor's degree in Law from the Federal University of Pernambuco/UFPE (2005), as well as a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, with a focus on electrical engineering, from the University of Pernambuco/UPE (1993). She was a visiting professor at the Boston College Law School from September 2017 to June 2018 in the Sandwich Doctorate Program (UnB/Capes). She is a Professor at the Brasiliense Institute of Public Law/IDP, teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. She has worked as a Federal Auditor of External Control at the Court of Audit of the Union since 1996, where she served for over 12 (twelve) years as an Advisor to the Minister.

Between 2021 and 2022, she served as the Director-General of the Serzedello Corrêa Institute (ISC), which is the Corporate University of the Court of Audit of the Union (TCU). In 2022, she was a Professor in the Postgraduate Course on Legislative Power and Parliamentary Law at the Brazilian Legislative Institute (ILB/Senate). She is a volunteer Professor at the Law School at the University of Brasília (UnB), where she is also a Researcher at the Comparative Constitutional Law Study Group (CECC). She has experience in the areas of Constitutional and Administrative Law, focusing primarily on public power oversight and control, comparative constitutional law, judicial review, constitutional control, judicial activism, and political corruption. She serves as a voluntary reviewer for some journals in the fields of Constitutional and Administrative Law, such as the TCU Journal and the Fundamental Rights and Democracy Journal (RDFD/Unibrasil).

Ph.D. summa cum laude from the Università degli Studi di Roma Tor Vergata in cotutela with UnB, with research periods at the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law (MPIL) and at the Institut de recherche en droit international et européen de la Sorbonne (IREDIES). Professor at IDP and ESAGU. Volunteer lecturer in the undergraduate Law program at UnB. Coordinator-General of Judicial and Administrative Affairs at the Legal Consultancy of the Ministry of Human Rights and Citizenship. Former Secretary of High Studies at the Brazilian Supreme Federal Court (STF). Former Ministerial Advisor at the STF. Member of the International Association of Constitutional Law (IACL/AIDC), the World Academy of Art and Science (WAAS), and the International Society of Public Law (ICON-S).

Miguel Gualano de Godoy

Associate Professor of Constitutional Law at the Law School of the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR) - Undergraduate, Master's, and Ph.D. Currently working at the Law School of the University of Brasília (FD-UnB). Holds a Master's and Ph.D. in Constitutional Law from UFPR, with study and research periods at Harvard Law School and the Law School of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). Post-doctorate from the Law School of the University of São Paulo (USP). Researcher at the Center for Constitutional Studies (CCONS/UFPR) and the Constitutionalism and Democracy Research Center (UFPR). Has academic and professional experience in Constitutional Law, focusing mainly on the following topics: Brazilian Supreme Federal Court; constitutional control; constitutional process; legislative process; institutional dialogues; amicus curiae; public hearings; fundamental rights; and deliberative democracy.
