Just Society

PROJECT

Just Society, run by the University of Southern Denmark (SDU) in partnership with the University of Brasília, the University of Johannesburg (South Africa), the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru (India), and the School of Arts and Sciences, Ilia State University (Georgia), is an interdisciplinary project that aims to promote equality by strengthening the rule of law, access to justice, and redistributive public policies through teaching, research, and public engagement.

Drawing on legal, sociological, and political perspectives, we explore the intersection of institutions that shape street-level encounters between the State and individuals with regard to access to justice and to public services and redistributive benefits. Our goal is to strengthen accountable and inclusive institutions that uphold the rule of law and provide equal access to welfare.
